BingoPlus Breaks Ground on Adaptive Sports Center in Cebu

On August 30, 2024, the BingoPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., officially broke ground for the PLUS Center for Adaptive Sports and Physical Rehabilitation in partnership with the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc. (PADS).

The ₱2 million facility will soon rise in Pajara Park, Mandaue City’s growing wellness and recreation hub, and is set for completion by November 2024.

A Milestone Toward Inclusion and Empowerment

The PLUS Center aims to empower Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through access to free physical therapy, adaptive sports programs, and career pathways in wellness and rehabilitation. It will also serve as a training site for therapy students and medical professionals — ensuring sustainable, high-quality care.

“This is more than a facility — it’s a launchpad for future athletes, coaches, and professionals,” said Celeste Jovenir, VP for Investor Relations at DigiPlus and COO of BingoPlus Foundation. “The mission of PADS to develop world-class athletes with disabilities inspired us. This center bridges healthcare and opportunity.”

Powered by Partnerships

The project is a product of strong multi-sectoral collaboration, bringing together:

  • City Government of Mandaue
  • Department of Health
  • Cebu Doctors University and other Rehabilitative Sciences institutions
  • PWD Federation of Cebu

Together, these partners will offer integrated rehabilitation services, with a special focus on indigent PWDs and patients recovering from stroke, paralysis, or mobility-related conditions.

A Shared Vision with PADS

“This is a symbol of hope,” said John Paul Maunes, Executive Director of PADS. “With BingoPlus Foundation joining our cause, we’ve found a vital ally in making disability inclusion in sports a reality.”

Mandaue City Councilor Jimmy Lumapas, Chair of the Committee on Social Services, added, “The PLUS Center will be a cornerstone for the PWD community. We’re grateful for the BingoPlus Foundation’s commitment.”

More Than Sports: A Broader Social Impact

This initiative is part of the Foundation’s mission to “Multiply the Good” — a call to uplift lives through inclusive healthcare, education, sports, and technology access. From disaster response to digital literacy, the Foundation’s growing portfolio reflects a deep commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive Philippines.
