BingoPlus Opens PLUS Tech & Livelihood Center in Cebu

In a shared mission to promote inclusivity and digital empowerment, the BingoPlus Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), proudly inaugurated the PLUS Center for Technology and Livelihood at the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC) II in Brgy. Labangon, Cebu City.

This milestone initiative is part of the Foundation’s FutureSmart Program, aiming to empower persons with disabilities (PWDs) and other individuals undergoing social rehabilitation through technology and skills training.

Empowering Futures with Technology

The BingoPlus Foundation turned over ₱1.5 million worth of cutting-edge tools and equipment to the center, including:

  • 20 desktop computers with assistive features like speech-to-text and audio software
  • A large-format tarpaulin printer and a heat press machine for the Commercial Arts program

These resources are set to enhance AVRC II’s vocational training programs in digital literacy, graphic design, and printing, giving trainees hands-on experience with industry-relevant technology.

“We’re not just donating equipment — we’re investing in people,” said Celeste Jovenir, Vice President for Investor Relations at DigiPlus and COO of BingoPlus Foundation. “This center represents opportunity, independence, and a more inclusive digital economy for all.”

Strengthening Partnerships, Changing Lives

This initiative supports DSWD’s “Adopt-A-Center” project and underscores the power of public-private partnerships in delivering meaningful impact. Dr. Jera D. Armendarez of AVRC II highlighted how the new equipment will help their trainees transition into employment or even entrepreneurship.

“Our clients now have better tools to prepare for jobs in creative and digital fields. This partnership proves what we can achieve when we work together.”

DSWD Region 7 Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero echoed this sentiment, adding, “We’re not just expanding services — we’re opening doors to digital inclusion and lifelong growth.”

A Broader Vision for Social Impact

The PLUS Center is part of the BingoPlus Foundation’s expanding social development efforts, which include:

  • Educational scholarships
  • Disaster relief aid (like the recent ₱10 million support to Super Typhoon Carina victims)
  • Digital upskilling programs for underserved communities

“These aren’t just machines — they’re gateways to creativity, livelihood, and self-sufficiency,” added Jovenir.
