As Typhoon Carina battered Metro Manila and parts of Luzon, BingoPlus Foundation — the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive — swiftly mobilized emergency assistance to affected communities and strengthened efforts to build long-term resilience in vulnerable barangays.
In close coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Foundation provided essential relief goods to 15,160 households across Marikina, Valenzuela, Navotas, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga — benefiting more than 75,800 individuals.
Our employee volunteers, proudly called Digibuddies, worked hand-in-hand with local officials to repack and distribute supplies on the ground.
To support the most vulnerable, rice and milk were donated to shelters like the DSWD Pag-Abot Center, assisting 787 homeless individuals, including abandoned children and the elderly, now sheltered in halfway homes.
Building Community Resilience Beyond Emergency Relief
Well before Typhoon Carina’s landfall, BingoPlus Foundation had already been reinforcing the disaster preparedness of high-risk communities through its Barangay Bigayan program:
In Norzagaray, Bulacan, 610 residents — including members of the nomadic Dumagat community — received rainwater catchment tanks and water filtration systems in partnership with Waves for Water, ensuring clean and safe drinking water amid climate challenges.
At Dike Adwas Elementary School, students were equipped with emergency go bags and introduced to disaster safety through the interactive “Masters of Disaster” learning game kits developed by ASSIST (Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation).
From Emergency Aid to Sustainable Impact
These initiatives form part of BingoPlus Foundation’s ₱10 million commitment, first announced during BingoPlus Day in Cebu, to assist disaster-stricken Filipinos in their recovery journey.
As the country enters peak typhoon season, DigiPlus Interactive and BingoPlus Foundation remain steadfast in our mission to help rebuild lives, support livelihoods, and foster a more resilient Philippines — one barangay at a time.
